Noah, England
«Volunteering was a unique experience, and it was incredible to teach the students and get to know them. Volunteering abroad can be challenging, but I truly believe that stepping out of your comfort zone is always a win. An experience I will never forget!»
Bio, Japan

Good to Know
We organize your stay together with our team at Voice Of Youth Tanzania on site. We work on a voluntary basis and do not charge any fees for coordination.
More Information:
Through Her Voice, we offer up to 40 women each year a six-month, free vocational training program. The participants can choose between two career paths: tailoring or beauty and hairdressing.
The students spend their days at a dedicated training center, where they are taught by qualified professionals and also attend classes in English, business, and computer skills. Additionally, a one-month internship allows them to gain their first hands-on work experience.
In this way, we empower young women to build professional and financial independence for a brighter future.
We tailor your tasks to match your individual strengths and interests. Of course, the exact tasks depend on the current needs of the project, but you can usually look forward to exciting activities in areas such as teaching, social media, marketing, administration, or community projects.
We’re also happy to support you with activities outside of the project if you’d like to get involved in other ways!
For accommodation with a warm and welcoming host family, the cost is 20 USD per night for stays shorter than 6 months. If you stay in Tanzania for longer than 6 months, the rate is reduced to 15 USD per night for the entire duration of your stay. This amount covers both accommodation and three meals a day, allowing you to fully focus on your volunteer work. It’s a great way to experience the culture up close while also supporting the local community.
Additional costs may apply for your travel to Tanzania and for activities outside the project, such as excursions or safaris, which you’ll need to cover yourself.
During your stay, you’ll mainly be in contact with the Her Voice students and the dedicated team at VOYOTA, alongside your host family.
To give you an initial glimpse and introduce you to your local contact person, we’ll arrange a Zoom meeting with you, us, and Voice Of Youth Tanzania (VOYOTA) in advance. This gives you the chance to ask questions and discuss your personal expectations – so we can kick off your volunteering adventure well-prepared!
Tanzania is a fascinating and diverse travel destination that captivates with breathtaking nature, incredible wildlife, and warm-hearted hospitality. The kindness of the local people makes your stay a truly special experience. Beyond that, the country offers unforgettable adventures: climb Mount Kilimanjaro, go on safari in one of the many national parks – including the world-famous Serengeti – or enjoy relaxing days on the dreamy beaches of Zanzibar.
