Together, With Dedication and Passion

What began as a friendship grew into a vision: four school friends joined forces to make a difference. Diana founded the association out of a passion for supporting the futures of young people in Tanzania in a lasting way. Her friends contributed their commitment, energy and support – and so the foundation for Direct Help 4 Tanzania was laid.

Since 2021, our work has continued to grow: a small passion project has become a well-structured organisation. Today, we are a growing team of women with diverse backgrounds, experience and skills. What unites us is our open and supportive culture, built on trust, the joy of working together and a shared goal of making a meaningful difference.

Our Board

Our board leads the association with a strategic eye, making sure our vision, structure and finances stay in balance.

President & Project Coordinator

Diana Solenthaler

Master's student in systems biology
ETH Zurich

“Curious and driven to change the world a little for the better – in our association and in the research lab alike. High standards for myself? Probably. But hey, otherwise nothing ever happens!”

Vice President & Fundraising

Rachelle Pino

M&A Tax Consultant
Master's student HSG

“From M&A to fundraising, I juggle deadlines, numbers and ideas – sometimes all at once. Multitasking isn’t just a skill, it’s my middle name. Tip: coffee helps, humour saves the day.”

Finance & Administration

Jasmin Huwiler

Student at FHNW in AOP
Patient admissions clerk

“Studies, work, everyday life – there’s always plenty to do, but there’s always time for what really matters: supporting people and making a small contribution to change.”

Our Team

Our team brings a wide range of experience and creativity – and that is exactly what makes our work together effective, sustainable and successful.

Fundraising & Marketing

Anouk Hochstrasser

Nursing student (HF)
Careum Zurich

“As a nurse, I’ve found my calling in helping others. And through this association, I can also support projects on practically the other side of the world.”

Volunteer Management

Areta Stauffer

Master’s student in Science, Technology & Policy, ETH Zurich

“I love supporting women on their path to independence – and being enriched by my exchanges with dedicated volunteers, locals and inspiring people.”

Communication & Social Media

Larissa Götzelmann

Recruiting & Marketing Specialist
Paul Scherrer Institute

“Tanzania touched my heart: the culture, the people and their joy for life. Now I’m giving something back with heart, creativity and plenty of impact. My small contribution to a better world!”

Taskforce

Samira Schmid

Master's student in Medicine
University of Basel

“I’m here for emergencies! Whether as a future doctor or as the association’s all-rounder, I step in wherever we’re short on capacity.”

Fundraising & Marketing

Sarah Mäsing

Bachelor student in Business Psychology at HSLU and event manager

“My studies taught me that education should never be taken for granted. That’s why it matters so much to me that young women gain access to it – and with it, greater independence.”

Volunteer Management

Vanessa Tagliaferro

Master's student in Molecular Mechanisms of Disease Development, ETH Zurich

“I’m so excited to help volunteers immerse themselves in Tanzania’s culture and joy for life. With lots of energy and heart, together we can make a real difference!”
