Volunteering in Tanzania was a unique experience, and it was incredible to teach the students and get to know them. Volunteering abroad can be challenging, but I truly believe that stepping out of your comfort zone is always a win. An experience I will never forget!
Bio, Japan
I was a volunteer at VOYOTA for three months. The experiences I had here were new and exciting for me and allowed me to grow personally!

Tanzania is a fascinating and versatile A destination that captivates with breathtaking nature, impressive wildlife, and warm hospitality. The friendliness of the local people makes the stay a truly special experience. Furthermore, the country offers unforgettable adventures: Climb Kilimanjaro, experience a safari in one of the numerous national parks – including the famous Serengeti – or enjoy Relaxing days on the dream beaches of Zanzibar.
During your stay, you will (besides your host family) mainly interact with the Her Voice students and the dedicated VOYOTA team We want to stay in touch. To give you a first impression and allow you to get to know your caregiver on site, we will organize a Zoom meeting with you, us, and Voice Of Youth Tanzania (VOYOTA). You'll have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss your individual ideas – this way we'll start your volunteering adventure perfectly prepared!
We tailor your tasks to your individual strengths and interests. Of course, the tasks depend on the current project situation, but you can usually expect exciting activities in areas such as... Teaching, social media, marketing, administration or Community projects. We are also happy to support you with activities outside of the project.
Accommodation with a welcoming host family costs $20 per night for stays of less than 6 months If you stay in Tanzania for longer than 6 months, the amount will be reduced to USD 15 per night for the entire stay. This amount covers both the Accommodation as well as three meals a day This allows you to fully concentrate on your involvement. In this way, you not only experience the culture up close, but also support the local community.
Your travel and activities outside the project, such as excursions or safaris, may incur additional costs which you will have to cover yourself.
